Jack Butson, 88, of St. Marys and formerly of Mitchell and Staffa passed away peacefully at the Mitchell Nursing Home on Saturday, November 5, 2016.
Beloved husband of the late Wilma Butson (Sept. 7, 2016) for 64 years. Dear father of daughter Rae Young (Bill), sons Keith Butson (Laura), Jeff Butson (Janice) and Jim Butson (Kathy). Devoted grandfather of Ian Young (Elisabeth), Robyn McClinchey (Josh), Lucas Fazakas (Christi), Stacey Batten (Jason), Bevan Butson (Becca), Brent Butson, Sarah Butson (Wade), Jennifer Butson (Taylor) and David Butson (Kayla). Loving great-grandfather of Avalon and Finlay Batten, Isla Young and Josie McClinchey. Dear brother-in-law of Margaret Miller, Betty Dow and Mary F. Dow.
Predeceased by his parents Leslie and Christina Butson, grandson Devan Butson, brothers-in-law Elmer, Mervin and Roger Dow, Lorne Doupe, Eldon Allen and Russell Miller and sisters-in-law Velma Doupe and Gladys Allen.
He was a life member of Britannia Lodge #170, Seaforth and was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of South Huron District.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rob Congram officiating. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Private family interment in Staffa Cemetery.
