EDWARD C. SCHERBARTH
Edward Carl Scherbarth, 89, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at the Ritz Lutheran Villa on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
Beloved husband of Margaret Scherbarth. Dear father of Janet Scherbarth of Waterloo, Susan Lazear (Don Taka) of San Marcos, California, William Scherbarth of Keswick and Christine Scherbarth (Robert Thomson) of Whitehorse. Loving grandfather of Tara McCann (Jenn), Erin McCann (Andrew), Blake Lazear (Kendra), Daniel Lazear (Sarah), David Scherbarth, Haley Thomson (Theresa) and of great grandchildren Jayden Lazear and Hudson Han. Dear brother-in-law of John Koehler (Audrey) of Mount Forest. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Edward and Martha Scherbarth, daughter-in-law Jacqueline Scherbarth, sisters Velma Prueter (Lloyd), Dorothy Wolfe (Wilfred), Marlene Townsend (Mac), brothers Ralph Scherbarth, Oscar and Harold Scherbarth in infancy and sister-in-law Anne Bogaert (Ted).
Ed farmed in Logan Township and subsequently worked as Deputy Clerk-Treasurer for the township for 16 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, played the cornet in the Brodhagen Band and belonged to the Brodhagen Chamber of Commerce for 35 years.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brodhagen on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Harold Brill officiating. Interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Ritz Lutheran Villa are welcome.
