THOMAS WILLIAM MILLER
Tom Miller, 70, of RR1, Mitchell passed away after a lengthy struggle with cancer at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 25, 2017.
Beloved husband of Carol Miller. Dear father of Brooke Barber (Blake) and Amy Brennan (Patrick). Loving grandfather of Reid and Emma Barber, Niamh and Enya Brennan. Dear brother of Margaret Brant. Dear son-in-law of Marjorie Sewell. Dear brother-in-law of John Sewell. Dear uncle of Alex, Anne and Maranda.
Predeceased by his parents Florne and Doris Miller and father-in-law George Sewell.
Born in Kitchener, Tom attended the University of Denver, winning two NCAA Championships, voted All American and graduating with a Civil Engineering degree. Owned by the New York Rangers organization, Tom played five years of pro hockey, two with the New York Islanders before buying his beloved farm property at Russeldale. His love of the outdoors, wood working and nature, surrounded him at the family farm he built with Carol. Tom's positive outlook on life, calm approach and enormous love of his family and friends will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Thamesview United Church, Fullarton on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
