JOHN L. OGILVIE
John Landon Ogilvie, 73, of Mitchell passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, February 23, 2018.
Beloved husband of Sharon Ogilvie. Dear father of Erica Lazarakos (George) and Reg Ogilvie (Ruth Ann). Loving and doting grandfather of Sam and Zoë Lazarakos, Daniel and Heather Ogilvie. Dear brother of Dr. Robert Ogilvie (Dr. Margaret). Dear brother-in-law of Jane Semler, Lanny Harbord (Barb) and Brian Harbord (Susan). Also surviving are his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Shirley George and Hilda Muriel Ogilvie, aunts Annetta and Coy Landon, father-in-law and mother-in-law Eric and Lorna Harbord and brother-in-law Conrad Semler.
John was a man who knew he was greatly loved and blessed. He felt privileged to own and operate Hoffmeyer's Planing Mill in Sebringville and very proud to see it carried on by his son Reg after his retirement. He was also a member of the Sebringville Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years. John was an avid snowmobiler and treasured boating with his wife Sharon at Bayfield for over 25 years. Spending time with his grandchildren gave him great joy.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Spring interment in Sebringville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Stratford House of Blessing or Stratford General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
The family are especially grateful for the compassionate and excellent care that John received at Stratford General Hospital with special thanks to Dr. Hussey, Dr. McCune, Dr. Narayan, the ER and EMS staff.
