BARRY BAILLIE
Barry Lawrence Baillie of Listowel, formerly of RR1, Monkton, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Cheryl (Wurdell) for fifty wonderful years. Loving father of Brad and Lisa, Brian and Pavla, Shelley and Jim (Mullin). Admired by his grandchildren Mitchell, Tory, Brooklyn (Baillie) and Liam and Hannah (Mullin). Uncle Barry will never be forgotten by his many nieces, nephews, extended friends and family. He came from a large family of nine siblings. Brother of Ken (Linda), Audrey Ludington, and John. Brother-in-law of Dick Adair, Carole and Eric Ludington and Rose Wurdell.
Predeceased by his parents Mark and Wilda (Baker), mother-in-law and father-in-law Margaret and Harold Wurdell, sisters Donna Sanburn (Jack) and Maxine Adair, brothers Jim, Bill (Alice) and Bob, brothers-in-law Fred Ludington and Wayne Wurdell, as well as grandchildren Brianna and Hunter Baillie.
Born and raised on the family farm, he chose farming as his passion and lived at “Maple Lane Farm” for 44 years.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brodhagen on Monday at 11:00 am with Pastor Harold Brill officiating. Interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Brodhagen Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation or Southwestern Ontario Hemophilia Society would be appreciated by the family.
